Quietech History

 Quietech began in 1983, when Ben Hannebrink started a company selling sound enclosures for noisy dot matrix printers, which is where the name QUIETech came from. 

After the Hannebrink family relocated to Nevada County, Quietech evolved along with technology. Ben began providing computer support to local residents and partnered with Harvest Computers on Maltman Drive, where he taught classes in Basic Computer, DOS, data management, WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, and dBase.

By 1990, Ben had left teaching to provide IT support full-time. He continued running Quietech until his retirement in 2013, when he passed the business on to his daughter, Melissa Hannebrink.

Melissa's connection to Quietech began long before she owned it. As a child, she frequently talked Ben into letting her tag along to the computer classes he taught, sparking an early fascination with technology.

By age 12, she was teaching herself HTML. In 1998, she started her own web design business as her senior project. Over the years, that business expanded into computer support, training, and helping people make sense of rapidly changing technology.

When Ben retired in 2013, Melissa took over Quietech and combined that history with the business and experience she had built independently. Since then, Quietech has continued to evolve, expanding its team and services while remaining rooted in the same community it has served for decades.
